With thanks and all good wishes

Dear readers,

I’ve taken the decision to close this blog.

It will remain ‘live’ until April 2017, when the contract with the web host expires; after that it will disappear from view.

I’d like to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has visited, commented, enjoyed, got in touch…  Perhaps our paths will cross again in the future.

In the meantime I’d like to wish you all a good Christmas and a very happy, healthy and successful 2017.

With kindest regards,

  1. Janice, thank you. I don’t know what has led to this decision, but I honor it and you for your dedication in sharing your immense skills–you are an artisan.

You were the first to comment on my (exceedingly neglected blog) years ago, and my heart absolutely THRILLED at the fact you hail from the very nation I long to visit extensively. It was like a happy gift to this Rocky Mountain Western girl.

I hope (if you are not already using it) you will post pics on instagram where we may continue to see what you are up to. Instagram is a brilliant platform for getting the word out without saying much. I like it because it takes so little time.

I now paint and would love to collaborate with you on one of your beautiful photographs of your region (I am no photographer and am constantly on the hunt for reference photos). I know we could work something out. Please find me on FaceBook at “white house old tree.”

Regardless, I wish you all the best and the happiest of Christmas’s.

  2. Well that’s a surprise! I enjoy reading your blog so I’ll be sorry to see it stop. I enjoy the way that as well as writing about arts and crafts, your writing also reflects a love of the natural world as well as such thoughtful reflections on life, literature, philosophy and all sorts (and great photos).

I kind of feel like you’re a friend, despite the fact that we’ve never met in ‘real life’. Maybe we might meet one day? If you’re ever over in the Worthing direction then do get in touch and we could meet for a coffee. I’ll see if I can find you on FB (an easier name to find than Robinson!). I think this message should have an email address linked to it, but if not then you can reach me via my website http://www.janerobinsontextiles.co.uk/ if you want to.

Many thanks for visiting my blog. It’s been really encouraging to read your kind comments.

I hope you enjoy whatever you’re moving on to do instead, and Happy Christmas.

    All the best,

  3. Wish you a very Merry Christmas Season too Janice. You have shared much beauty and knowledge and I so have appreciated it. All the Best!!

  4. Dear Janice, I’ve so enjoyed reading your blog and appreciating your talents in so many directions. I respect your decision and thank you for sharing so much. Merry Christmas to you all on your island.

  5. I shall miss your blog, Janice. It’s always interesting to see what you’ve done, and what you’ve done is so much more varied than what I’ve done! Thank you again for all your encouragement when I set up my own blog, and thank you for being a point of sanity in the world.

  6. I’ve enjoyed reading your blog and while I will miss seeing your work and hearing of your travels to places I’ll probably never see, I certainly wish you the best in all your future endeavors.

  7. It has been a pleasure reading your blog. I hope your road takes you to all the places you long to be. Thanks for sharing your wonderful talents and exposing me to so many beautiful places around the world.
